  • Graduated from Portsmouth High School in 2007.  Been into weightlifting since high school.  I grew up playing many sports including football, basketball, cross country, and swim team.  The thing that brought me to crossfit was the competitive feeling of the workouts, the support of the community, and the fact it is never repetitive.  I enjoy giving all aspects of fitness a go.  I currently have completed a half marathon, few sprint triathlons, TOSRV bike ride, and local CrossFit competitions.

  • After being born in the Greater Cleveland area moved to Scioto County and attended Northwest High School.  While at Northwest he played 3 years of football, 4 years of track, 2 years on the power lifting team, and 1 year of golf.  He attended Wright State University and Shawnee State University.  He became a personal trainer at the SOMC Life Center in 2004.
  • Lucas on why he likes CrossFit.  “The friendly competition that CrossFit brings is great, but at the end of the day you have to look at yourself in the mirror and know that you gave it your all or not.”

  • I played many sports throughout my life (Baseball, football, wrestling, track and field events).  I have been into fitness and an active life style since high school. I have participated in several sprint triathlons, many 5 & 10k races, and a half marathon. I am the health and wellness representative in my department at SOMC.  I enjoy Crossfit because I like to push myself to the next level.

  • I Graduated  from Portsmouth West High School in 2008.  I stayed very active playing softball, volleyball, and basketball while in high school.  I then continued my softball career at Shawnee State University for two years. I have always lived an active lifestyle but was not introduced to Crossfit until February of 2012.  I received my Level 1 Cert in 2015. Crossfit’s encouraging community and support have pushed me farther in my fitness than I ever thought possible.  The competitiveness of every workout and the sense of accomplishment I feel every time I finish a workout is what keeps me coming back everyday.  The confidence it has given me is undeniably one of the best feelings. Crossfit has helped me understand that my body is capable of much more than I ever thought.   I exercise to not only look strong, but to feel strong as well.  Crossfit has taught me to appreciate the difference.

    Very interested in becoming a member. However I’m disappointed that there is only going to be classes 3-4 days a week at only certain times and only certain open gym times? Is this set in stone or will a paying customer be able to access the Crossfit gym more if they wish to follow their own programming? I’ve followed Crossfit for some time now and would like to be able to have access to a gym to accommodate my schedule working 12 hour swing shifts of days and nights. Extremely interested but want to make sure the cost would be worth my while. Thanks!
